Grand Opening of our New Main Entrance and Tse Yuen Chuen Indoor Swimming Pool
What a blessed morning we shared on 10th May 2025, as we gathered to celebrate the Grand Opening of our New Main Entrance and Tse Yuen Chuen Indoor Swimming Pool! This historic achievement, made possible through your visionary generosity, marks a transformative chapter in legacy of excellence.
A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition & Gratitude
The morning began with our beloved College Hymn, followed by blessings from The Rt Revd Dr. Matthias Der Tze Wo and scripture reading (Psalm 100) by The Rt Revd Dr. Thomas Soo Yee Po. As the Combined Choir performed "Be Thou My Vision" under Mr. Stephen Lam Lik Hin's direction, we were reminded how your gifts help students find their God-given potential.
Principal Mr. Dennis Yuen Dick Yan welcomed all who made this vision reality while Dr. Ian Chan Yau Nam acknowledged our major donors, inviting them on stage for special recognition photographs with our distinguished guests. The ceremonial opening was graciously presided over by The Most Revd Andrew Chan Au Ming, whose blessing underscored our commitment to holistic education grounded in Christian values.
A poignant ribbon-cutting at the pool
A particularly moving moment came during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Tse Yu Chuen Indoor Swimming Pool, led by former Principal Mr. Timothy Ha Wing Ho together with Mr. Michael Tse Kin Wang, grandson of the late Mr. Tse Yu Chuen, whose family legacy continues to inspire our community. Also a special moment as guests enjoyed the first-ever viewing of the completed swimming pool facility.
Dr. Arnold Cheng Cheuk Sang then offered heartfelt closing remarks, praising the collaborative spirit that brought this vision to life. Archbishop Chan's final blessing commissioned the facilities leaving all present inspired for the journey ahead.
An Intimate Donor Luncheon
Following the ceremony, we hosted an intimate appreciation luncheon at HKU Senior Common Room, which was a warm gathering to express our deepest appreciation. Certificates of Gratitude were presented to major donors, while Project Chairman Mr. Antonio Ching Wai Chuen shared exciting plans for the Phase 2C Library Enhancement.
The relaxed atmosphere allowed for meaningful fellowship among donors, Foundation members, and special guests. These new facilities stand as enduring testaments to our community's shared vision - where every gift, large or small, contributes to nurturing future generations of Paulinians.
Special recognition goes to our outstanding students - the Choir, Scouts, Red Cross members and Student Association - whose flawless execution reflected the very best of St. Paul's spirit. We equally thank their dedicated teachers-in-charge along with our senior management team.
As we look ahead, we remain deeply grateful for your partnership in shaping St. Paul's legacy. May this achievement inspire continued support for our mission.
